Recommended Service

Our server works best when your client is configured to use  SSL/TLS IMAP but is not restricted to that and will work well with POP.

Outlook and other modern clients should be able to automatically download the configurations for your email client. If it does not you may want to go back a step and try add your email address again before manually setting up your email address on your email client. 

Note that in order to use our email server you will need to provide credentials for both sending and receiving mail.

Support Service

Outlook Setup

1. Open Outlook.
2. Go to "File" > "Add Account".
3. Enter your full email address and click "Advanced options" > "Let me set up my account manually".
4. Choose "IMAP" or "POP", depending on your preference (IMAP is recommended for synchronizing emails across devices).
5. Fill in the following information:
• Incoming mail server: techbit.co.za
• Account type: IMAP or POP3
• Incoming mail server port: 143 (for IMAP) or 110 (for POP3)
• Outgoing mail server (SMTP): techbit.co.za
• Outgoing mail server port: 587 (recommended) or 465 or 25
6. Check the box for "Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)".
7. Enter your full email address as the username and your password.
8. Click "Next" and follow the prompts to complete the setup process.
   

Apple Mail Setup

1. Open Apple Mail.
2. From the "Mail" menu, choose "Add Account".
3. Select "Other Mail Account" and click "Continue".
4. Enter your full name, email address, and password, then click "Sign In".
5. Choose "IMAP" or "POP", depending on your preference.
6. Fill in the following information:
• Incoming Mail Server: techbit.co.za
• User Name: Your full email address
• Password: Your password
• Incoming mail server port: 143 (for IMAP) or 110 (for POP3)
• Outgoing Mail Server: techbit.co.za
• Outgoing mail server port: 587 (recommended) or 465 or 25
7. Click "Sign In" and follow the prompts to complete the setup process.
   

Windows Mail Setup

1. Open Windows Mail.
2. Click on "Settings" (gear icon) and select "Manage Accounts" > "Add account".
3. Choose "Advanced setup" > "Internet email".
4. Enter the following details:
• Email address: Your full email address
• User name: Your full email address
• Password: Your password
• Account name: Provide a name for your account (e.g., Techbit Mail)
• Incoming email server: techbit.co.za
• Account type: IMAP4 or POP3 (depending on your preference)
• Incoming mail server port: 143 (for IMAP) or 110 (for POP3)
• Outgoing (SMTP) email server: techbit.co.za
• Outgoing mail server port: 587 (recommended) or 465 or 25
• Outgoing server requires authentication: Check this box
• Use the same username and password for sending email: Check this box
5. Click "Sign in" or "Connect" and follow the prompts to complete the setup process.

Gmail Setup

Get mail from your domain account in Gmail

1. Log in to your Gmail account.
2. Click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner, then select "See all settings".
3. Go to the "Accounts and Import" or "Accounts" tab.
4. In the "Check mail from other accounts" section, click on "Add a mail account".
5. Enter your full email address and click "Next".
6. Enter the following information:
• Email address: Your full techbit.co.za email address
• Username: Your full email address
• Password: Your password
• POP Server: techbit.co.za
• Port: 995
• Check the box for "Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail"
7. Click "Add Account".
8. Choose whether to label incoming messages (recommended).
9. Optionally, you can choose to archive incoming messages (recommended).
10. Click "Add Account" to complete the setup

Send Mail From Gmail using your Domain

1. In the "Send mail as" section of Gmail settings, click on "Add another email address".
2. Enter your name and your techbit.co.za email address.
3. Click "Next Step".
4. Choose "Send through techbit.co.za SMTP servers".
5. Enter the following SMTP server information:
• SMTP Server: techbit.co.za
• Port: 587
• Username: Your full email address
• Password: Your password
6. Select "Secured connection using TLS"
7. Click "Add Account".

Mozilla Thunderbird Setup

1. Open Mozilla Thunderbird.
2. Go to "Tools" > "Account Settings".
3. Click on "Account Actions" and select "Add Mail Account".
4. Enter your name, email address, and password.
5. Click "Continue".
6. Thunderbird will attempt to configure your email automatically. If unsuccessful, choose either IMAP or POP3 and enter the following details:
• Incoming: techbit.co.za, Port: 143 (IMAP) or 110 (POP3)
• Outgoing: techbit.co.za, Port: 587 (recommended) or 465 or 25
• Username: Your full email address
• Connection Security: STARTTLS (recommended)
7. Click "Done" to complete the setup.
   

Android Email App Setup

1. Open the Email app on your Android device.
2. Tap on "Add Account" or "New Account".
3. Enter your techbit.co.za email address and password.
4. Select "IMAP" or "POP3" as your account type.
5. Enter the following details:
• Incoming server: techbit.co.za, Port: 143 (IMAP) or 110 (POP3)
• Outgoing server: techbit.co.za, Port: 587 (recommended) or 465 or 25
• Username: Your full email address
• Security type: SSL/TLS (recommended)
6. Tap "Next" and follow the prompts to complete the setup.
